Brand Spotlight: Ted Baker ♥

As a teenager, I didn't really bother with 'designers' or expensive brands, firstly because I couldn't afford to and secondly because I much preferred walking out of Primark/New look with bags and bags of clothes and accessories, instead of just getting one item for the same amount of money.

Fast forward a few years and it's all change. I'm now much more interested in 'quality over quantity' and want to start buying a few investment pieces instead of lots of basically disposable items. What started this change of heart? In a nutshell Ted Baker.

Ted Baker is one of those perfect luxurious-but-within-reach brands, the products are fabulous quality with attention to detail that most high street retailers can only dream of (bulldog lining in handbags, tiny logos on the inside of shirt cuffs, swoon!). As soon as you step into the store you're surrounded by beautiful, good quality items, sparkly purses and shoes, patent detailing and amazing menswear (well cut, brilliant colour palette, most things go with everything so he won't struggle to put outfits together! perfect!)

Myself and Alex both love a good visit to TB in the Meadowhall centre (or in Cambridge next to the Grand Arcade if I'm at home!) and over the last couple of months we've both been investing in a few bits and bobs. This gave me the idea for 'Brand Spotlight' blog posts! Little blog posts about my favourite brand at the time, and a few top picks! Here are my top picks from Ted:

For Women:
This LAIA Collar and Cuff Dress is absolutely beautiful and isn't jaw-droppingly expensive at £119.

I pick up these GEMM pumps in pale pink almsot every time I go in but never quite take the plunge because I'm worried they'll rub my feet. At £50 they're a bit more than I'd normally spend on ballerina flats but they're so stunning!

These PALMA pig and pearl earrings are just adorable. At £23 in the sale they're a bargain too!

For Men:
The GARIB round collar shirt is classic but has a hint of quirkiness, amazing with a charcoal grey suit! At £120 it's a bit of an investment but there is nothing better than a crisp, good quality white shirt :)

The HAYCOOL shawl collar cardigan is classic and perfect for everyday wear, Alex bought the jacket version of this in store before Christmas (it was £110 so really good value) but it's disappeared from the website now!

The tan PATRII Derby lace up are perfect 'go with everything' shoes. With a grey suit, with jeans and a shirt, there are plenty of possibilities meaning they'll get lots of wear. At £100 for a leather shoe they're a bit of a snip! I love them :)

It's not often I write about brands or fashion because it's not really my area of expertise if I'm honest! I'm happy in a top, leggings and UGG boots most of the time ;) What did you think of my first Brand Spotlight? I'd really appreciate the feedback!

  1. Great Idea, I love Ted Baker but it's a little out of my price range so I might have to start with one of the lovely cosmetics bags :)
